Apply For A Philippine Passport

The Philippine Passport is at all times the property of the Republic of the Philippines. It must be surrendered upon demand by an authorized representative of the Philippine Government.

Alteration, addition, or destruction of contents is strictly prohibited. Any unauthorized change will render a passport invalid and will have accompanying penalties.

The information provided in the passport application form must be true and correct. The documents that will be submitted should be complete and authentic. Under the law, making false statements in the passport application form, furnishing falsified or forged documents in support thereof are punishable by law.

From 3 January 2018, Filipinos 18 years old and above shall be issued ten-year validity electronic passports. Minors will continue to be issued five-year validity e-passports.

 

BEFORE APPLICATION:

  1. PREPARE REQUIREMENTS AND GET AN ONLINE APPOINTMENT. Prepare soft files of your required IDs and documents according to the type of passport application you seek, and a duly accomplished application form to upload to the Embassy website to get an appointment. An online appointment is required and confirmed only when you have uploaded the complete requirements on the website.

  1. WAIT FOR CONFIRMATION AND PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS. Once your documents have been assessed and completed, you will receive a confirmation for your appointment and payment instructions for your requested services.
  2. ENVELOPE FOR MAILED PASSPORTS. If you prefer to have your new passport mailed to your address, prepare a self-addressed registered envelope with sufficient stamps (Rek & Value for Traceable packages). For registered mail within Denmark, ensure that stamps are worth DKK 99. For registered mail outside Denmark, including Faroe Islands, Greenland, Sweden, Iceland, Finland and Germany, ensure that the stamps are worth DKK 135. Click here to purchase stamps.
  3. RENEWAL OF YOUR PASSPORT AT LEAST EIGHT (8) MONTHS BEFORE ITS EXPIRY DATE is highly encouraged. There is no penalty with the renewal of an expired e-passport.
  4. SECURE YOUR PASSPORTS BEFORE BOOKING TRAVEL TICKETS OUT OF THE COUNTRY. Flight bookings should only be made if passports are still valid for at least six (6) months.
  5. ESCORTS ARE NOT ALLOWED within the premises of the Embassy.
  6. INFORM THE EMBASSY IF YOU NEED TO CANCEL AND RESCHEDULE your appointment.

DURING APPLICATION:

      1. PERSONAL APPEARANCE IS REQUIRED. Personal appearance of all passport applicants are required. Minors applicants require the appearance of a parent/legal guardian.
      2. BRING ALL ORIGINAL AND PHOTOCOPIES OF YOUR REQUIREMENTS TO THE EMBASSY. Bring originals and complete photocopies of required IDs and documents, together with the duly accomplished application form. The Embassy does not provide printing and photocopying services. Only complete documents will be processed and released during your appointment time.
      3. DRESS APPROPRIATELY. Wear decent clothing for passport photo capture. Plunging necklines, sleeveless, spaghetti-strapped, see-through, tube, and halter tops, heavy make-up, jewelry, colored contact lenses, and false eyelashes are not allowed during data capture.

GENERAL PROCEDURE IN THE CONSULAR SECTION


STEP 1. Applicant’s names will be called during their appointed time.
STEP 2. Applicant submits original and photocopies of required IDs and documents, together with a duly accomplished application form, and presents the confirmation of his/her payment. For mailed passport release, the applicant submits a self-addressed registered envelope.
STEP 3. Applicants will be called for the capture of data and checks all the passport data before signing at the end of the data capture process.
STEP 4. Applicant receives his/her receipt.

AFTER PASSPORT APPLICATION:

      1. PASSPORT AVAILABILITY. Check the status of your passport 6 to 8 weeks after your application. Click here to check passport availability.
      2. GET ONLINE APPOINTMENT TO RECEIVE PASSPORT IN PERSON. Only applicants receiving their passports in person need an online appointment.
      3. TRACK MAILED PASSPORT. Applicants may track the status of the arrival of their passports using track-and-trace feature when they bought their online postage from PostNord. Click here to track.
      4. CHECK AND SIGN PASSPORT. Check all the data printed on the new e-passport and sign your passport upon receipt. Kindly inform the Embassy of incorrect entries in your passport immediately.
      5. UNCLAIMED PASSPORTS after six (6) months will be canceled per Department Order No. 37-03.
