1.1A consular team from the Philippine Embassy in Denmark, led by Deputy Chief of Mission and Consul General Maria Antonina M. Mendoza-Oblena, and five other personnel, conducted the first ever consular outreach program at the Hotel Ansgar in Odense, Denmark on 1 February 2020.

 

Odense is the third largest city in Denmark located in the island of Funen, about 167 kilometers from the city of Copenhagen. It is one of Denmark’s  most important industrial, manufacturing, tourism and commercial centers. Odense is the birthplace of the famous Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen whose fairy tales are well-loved worldwide. About 2,000 Filipinos live in the area.

3.1The consular team was able to render a total of one hundred thirty-seven (137) services during the weekend outreach which included processing of   eighty-eight (88) passport applications, four (4) Reports of Marriage (ROM), one (1) acknowledgment of au pair contract, sixteen (16) notarials (affidavits/SPA), release of twenty-eight (28) new passports and other consular documents.

 

The consular team was assisted by the members of the Filipino community in Odense led by Ms. Josephine Malmquist and Ms. Fremelee Pedersen who helped in the logistical arrangements of the outreach.

 

The Embassy is slated to conduct   five (5) more consular missions throughout this year.
