The Philippine Embassy in Denmark, in cooperation with MWO-London and the Filipino community in Odense, successfully conducted a consular outreach program on 09 November 2024 at Kildemosen Lokale in Roersvej, Odense. As of November 2024, approximately 1,864 Filipinos are registered across the Southern Region of Denmark (Syddanmark).

The consular team provided a total of sixty-seven (67) services which included the processing of 19 passport applications, 18 notarials, 4 civil registrations, 2 re-acquisitions of dual citizenship, 4 employment contract registrations, 4 OWWA membership registrations, and 16 consultations.

Members of the Filipino community in Odense, led by Ms. Josephine Malmquist, assisted the consular team in the provision of the venue and other logistics. They also expressed their appreciation for the conduct of the outreach program and welcomed the Embassy’s efforts in bringing government services closer to them.

Odense is Denmark’s third largest city, located on the island of Funen, 160 kilometers west of Copenhagen. It is the birthplace of renowned Danish author, Hans Christian Andersen, who is best remembered for his fairy tales, including The Little Mermaid, The Ugly Duckling, and Thumbelina. From its legacy dating from the Viking Age, Odense has transformed into a modern Danish City with a hub for robot technology and innovation. It is also home to more than 180 higher education programs, a university hospital and strong clusters in the fields of robotics, drones, welfare technology, and IT. END
