The consular team from the Philippine Embassy in Denmark, headed by Consul Domini N. Fañgon-Kitade, conducted a consular outreach program on 27-28 April 2024 in Aalborg, Denmark. The team was also joined by Mr. Rolland Dela Cruz of MWO and Ms. Margie Ungson of OWWA from London, UK.
A total of eighty-three (83) services were rendered during the outreach program. In particular, sixty-nine (69) mobile ePassport applications, notarial, civil registry applications, and overseas voting registration were processed; and fourteen (14) consultations on various consular services, MWO and OWWA, and Filipino community organization matters. The consular outreach was held in GYM Aalborg, through the assistance of the Filipino community in Aalborg, including a Filipina who works there with her Danish husband. The consular team also had a “meet and greet” with members of the Filipino community across the Jutland regions who are mostly employed in the food and service sectors.
Members of the Filipino community in Aalborg assisted the consular team to ensure the success of the outreach program.
As of January 2024, there are 4,117 registered Filipinos in Jutland, the largest peninsula of Denmark, which contains 3 regions (North, Central, and South Jutland) of the 5 mainland regions. Around 335 Filipino immigrants and their descendants reside in Aalborg, the fourth largest Danish city, located in the North Jutland, around 417 kilometers from Copenhagen. The city’s position on the Limfjord makes it an important harbor and industrial center. It is known for its half-timbered mansions built by its affluent merchants.
This is the Philippine Embassy’s first consular outreach mission for CY 2024. END
