The Philippine Embassy in Denmark composed of Vice Consul Al-Bari B. Macalawan, Mr. Jose Mari M. Fedelicio, Ms. Caroline B. Rubas, Mr. Rodelio O. Inventor, Ms. Starlet T. De Asis, and Mr. Jose Sonny B. Babiano, successfully conducted a consular outreach program from 25-26 November 2023 in Esbjerg, Denmark.
A seaport town located in the westcoast of the Jutland peninsula, Esbjerg is the fifth largest city in Denmark with its harbor and offshore activities as the driving force. The area is home to approximately 13,500 jobs within oil and gas companies including design, installation and service sector of offshore wind farms. The city has over 1,000 consulting engineers specializing in energy and in the field of education, and a growing number of bachelor's and master's programs focusing on both fossil and renewable forms of energy.
There are ten (10) passport applications/ biometric data capture; nine (9) notarials, one (1) acknowledgment of employment contract; one (1) application for reacquisition/ retention of Philippine citizenship; four (4) civil registry applications ( 3 ROM and 1 ROB); eighteen (18) registrants for overseas voting, and fifteen (15) consultations processed by the team, a total of fifty-eight (58) services rendered during the outreach program. The consular outreach was held at Frivillighuset Vindrosen in Esbjerg. The consular team also had an opportunity for a “meet and greet” with members of the Filipino community across the Danish southwestern region who are mostly engaged in service sectors including healthcare, finance, pig farming, and offshore jobs.
The members of the Filipino community in Esbjerg led by Ms. Marirose Linsbauer assisted the consular team in the provision of venue and other logistics.
