In an impressive display of innovation and talent, the Philippine Robotics National Team secured multiple victories at the prestigious World Robot Olympiad Friendship Invitational 2023 held in Odense, Denmark from 21 to 24 September. About 1,200 participants from 39 countries took part in the event.
At the Elementary level for Future Innovators, the Philippine Robotics National Team clinched the Bronze medal, affirming their position as exceptional young talents within the field of robotics. This achievement was accomplished by DepEd's Special Education for the Gifted (SpEd-G) of Olongapo City, composed of Sabina Lim and Gevenyl Canlas.
Furthermore, the Philippine team, represented by Aaron James Amar, Andrea Luz Guevarra and Daniella Angela De Guzman from the Dr. Yanga Colleges, Inc. (Bulacan), demonstrated their exceptional capabilities at the Senior High School level, securing an impressive third place and bronze medal.
Philippine Ambassador Leo Herrera-Lim congratulated the team and conveyed “the victory of the robotics team at the World Robot Olympiad is a proud moment for the Philippines. We are delighted that these Filipino students have proven that we have what it takes to be a frontrunner in the field of robotics.”
FELTA Multi Media Inc. President/ CEO, Mylene Abiva joined the Philippine Robotics National Team and was recognized during the event as the pioneer organizer of the World Robot Friendship Invitational Cebu in 2018.
