The Philippine Embassy in Denmark co-organized and participated at the 1st Diplomatic Bazaar in Denmark on 3 June 2023 held at Gentofte City Hall. The Philippine booth showcased pearls, handicrafts & decors (in partnership with Montana Trading Aps DK), single-origin coffee, and local cuisines such as adobo, biko, and bibingkang kamoteng kahoy. The event also featured two (2) cultural performances—tinikling and kapa malong-malong (both by Babaylan-Denmark), and two (2) songs by Ms. Joreen Bautista and Mr. Andy Roda (two of the Filipino casts in Miss Saigon Musical Denmark.

Hundreds of guests attended the Bazaar with twenty-four (24) diplomatic missions participating. The Danish Refugee Council (DRC), one of the biggest NGO in Denmark and with Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary as patron, is the beneficiary for the event. The Mayor of Gentofte, Mr. Michael Fenger, and DRC’s Secretary-General, Ms. Charlotte Slente, opened the event.

The Bazaar was initiated by Fidelis Herrera-Lim under the Ambassadors’ Spouses Group in Copenhagen, with the Philippine Embassy playing a major role as a co-organizer.

The event is the first of several activities on Philippine Cultural Days project in celebration of the milestone 125th Anniversary of PH Independence.
