Copenhagen, 5 October 2022 - PH Embassy and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), global leader in offshore wind and the world's largest dedicated fund manager for renewable energy investments, discussed ways forward in developing wind energy projects in the Philippines.

Philippine Ambassador Leo Herrera-Lim briefed CIP’s Niels Holst and Przemek Lupa on the anticipated lifting of foreign ownership cap on solar and wind renewable energy generation projects in PH.

Ambassador Herrera-Lim and CIP exchanged views on establishing the first offshore wind energy project in PH which is expected to create thousands of jobs and lessen the country’s dependence on coal and petroleum-based energy.

CIP intends to contribute to the national government’s target of accelerating green energy transition and increasing the share of renewable energy in the power generation mix to 35% by 2030 which would require an additional 20GW of renewables.
