Copenhagen, 24 September 2022. The Philippine Embassy in Denmark held, in partnership with POLO-OWWA London and SSS-London, an OFW Welfare & Services and SSS Seminar with onsite services on 24 September 2022. POLO-OWWA was represented by Labor Attaché Amuerfina Reyes, and SSS by Representative Lydia Cabagnot.

The services offered by POLO-OWWA are: (1) registration of workers’ individual employment contracts, (2) issuance of Overseas Employment Certificate or OEC; (3) application/renewal of OWWA membership; and (4) employment consultations. On the other hand, SSS offered (1) membership consultations; (2) registration; (3) reactivation of membership; (4) compliance with Annual Confirmation of Pensioners or ACOP; (5) updating of beneficiaries; and (6) acceptance of payments for SS contributions.

The activity addresses the limited access of migrant workers to information on local employment at host country (POLO-OWWA), and lack of information on financial planning (SSS).

The Embassy also invited several heads of Filipino organizations in Denmark to the seminar/briefing to enable these organizations to understand and disseminate information on employment contracts, OWWA, OEC, SSS, etc. to members of the Filipino community.
