Copenhagen, 30 August 2022 - PH Embassy and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), the world's largest dedicated fund manager for renewable energy investments, discussed opportunities in developing offshore wind projects in the Philippines.
Philippine Ambassador Leo Herrera Lim and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners’ Robert Helms exchanged views to provide PH with advanced and modern wind-power technology to support its green transition and target of 50 percent share of renewable energy in the power generation mix by 2040.
CIP is managing a fund specifically targeted at the fast growing major new economies and with a current strong focus on ASEAN countries, including the Philippines. Findings from a 2022 research roadmap published by the Department of Energy and the World Bank Group emphasize that PH has a technical potential of 178 GW offshore wind, which puts the country at the forefront of prospective offshore wind markets.
