Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark Leo Herrera-Lim reported, “exports to Denmark showed the fastest growth in over a decade. Philippine exports in 2021 are more than three times larger in volume than 2018. This is an indication of stronger bilateral ties between our two countries since the Philippine Embassy in Denmark was established in 2019.”

The export of the catamaran ferry (in the amount of USD 65M) built by Austal Philippines is the top export product in 2021, comprising 41% of all exports. Other top commodity exports are hearing aids (53M), carrageenan (7.35M) and spectacle frames and mountings (5.18).

Growth of Philippine exports to Denmark (146%) outpaced those of the whole EU (23%) and leads other Scandinavian countries - Sweden (39%) and Norway (29%). Likewise, Philippine imports from Denmark grew by 25.97% from 2020 to 2021.

Ambassador Herrera-Lim shared that the outlook for PH-DK trade is guardedly optimistic with continued growth expected in 2022 and beyond. He congratulated Team Philippines in Denmark, including friends of the Philippines for this significant achievement in PH-DK trade relations. -END
