COPENHAGEN 23 FEBRUARY 2021 – The Philippines and Denmark held Bilateral Consultations to further boost cooperation and highlight the strong friendship based on shared values. This year marks the 75th year anniversary of the establishment of PH-DK diplomatic relations.

Department of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Elizabeth P. Buensuceso headed the Philippine delegation. The Danish side was headed by Permanent State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Jesper Møller Sørensen. Undersecretary Buensuceso was joined by Ambassador Leo M. Herrera-Lim, Assistant Secretary for European Affairs Jaime Victor B. Ledda, and other Philippine Government officials.

Both sides discussed a wide range of bilateral issues, and exchanged views to expand cooperation in various areas, particularly in the fields of health, renewable energy, information technology, migration, labor, tourism, trade, and investments.

During the consultations, the Philippines noted that this is the first bilateral consultations since the Philippine Embassy in Copenhagen opened in 2019, a reflection of the excellent relations between the two countries.
