The Embassy of the Philippines joins the Filipino communities in Denmark, the Faroe Islands, and Greenland in celebrating the 127th anniversary of the proclamation of our country’s independence.

The theme of this year’s anniversary, “Kalayaan. Kinabukasan. Kasaysayan.” (Freedom. Future. History.), reflects our unwavering belief that freedom is umbilically linked to the establishment of our nation as Asia’s first independent republic and the future of our people.

The commemoration of this milestone provides us with the opportunity to revisit our forebears’ acts of courage and unconditional sacrifices, which ushered in the freedom that all Filipinos are privileged to enjoy today. Let us properly honor their sacred offering at the altar of freedom by being part of the collective national effort to enable all of our citizens to fully realize the fruits promised by freedom and independence.

Kailangang ipamalas natin ang ating pagmamalaki sa ating kultura, pamana, at pagkakakilanlan sa pamamagitan ng mga diwa at gawa na positibong nagtataguyod sa pag-unlad ng ating bansa. Sama-sama nating isakatuparan ang ating binuong pangarap: isang ligtas, maunlad, at makabuluhang buhay para sa lahat ng ating mga kababayan.

Let us continue to work hand in hand to achieve the Bagong Pilipinas, which emphasizes community involvement, solidarity, unity, and the bayanihan culture as the driving force behind the full realization of a progressive Philippines and a united Filipino people.
